The Consciousness Conundrum: AI's Limitations

The Mystery of Consciousness: The Limits of Artificial Intelligence

In recent years, artificial intelligence has made tremendous strides—from mastering complex games to improving outcomes in healthcare. However, we must recognize a crucial difference between the capabilities of AI and the human brain.

Consciousness is often associated with self-awareness, emotions, and subjective experience—qualities that are unique to living humans. Although AI systems can process vast amounts of information, recognize patterns, and learn from data, they do not possess consciousness in the sense that we humans do.

Researchers have been studying the possibility of creating conscious AI for decades, but serious scientific obstacles still stand in the way. Currently, there is no consensus on how to define or measure consciousness in machines, let alone replicate it.
